how it works
to make a byteedge account:
- download byteedge through google play store or ios app store.
- choose user category individual or business.
- for individuals, input your phone number with country code, press send verification code and input 4-digit otp, press verify (in case you have not received otp in 30 seconds press send again). fill in the information required (name, email, dob). enter your learning goals, i.e., how much time you can spend for learning in a week time. choose your favorite skill set (any 5) from the list of skills provided on the screen. and your profile set up is complete.
- for business users, input your official email id. select the domain name provided by your organization. if you do not have this, it will be provided by your l&d or hr admin team. fill in the information required (name, email, dob). enter your learning goals, i.e., how much time you can spend for learning in a week time. choose your favorite skill set (any 5) from the list of skills provided on the screen. and your profile set up is complete.
- choose whether you want to provide a name, email, and password or link your byteedge account to your facebook profile, google account or apple id.
- if you choose to create a new byteedge account with a name, email, and password, your password needs to be 8 characters or longer. once you create your account, you can change your account settings any time. for setting up a new business account please contact us at info@byteedge.com.

- change your time zone.
- link your facebook account with byteedge or remove your facebook account from byteedge.
- link your google account to byteedge or remove your google account from byteedge.

- you can also change your learning goals, or check how many badges you have earned, the videos you have downloaded and the transaction/payment history.
you can adjust the language of your byteedge account in your account settings. this affects text on your homepage and system text in courses you take. course content will always appear in the language that it was written.
to change your language:
- open byteedge app.
- click your profile tab at the bottom of the screen.
- click the dropdown menu under language and select the language you would like to see displayed.

- in the account section, click the drop-down menu under language.
- select the language you want to use for your account and click save.
- refresh the page or visit a new page to see the language update.
- we currently support these languages: english and hindi.
if you do not want to use your byteedge account anymore, you can delete your account. before you delete, please not that deleting your account will not stop payments. ensure you cancel any active subscriptions on your account before deleting. if you delete your byteedge account, you may not be able to restore your old account information. you will need to create a new account to use byteedge again.
to delete your account
- log in to your byteedge account.
- click your name in the top-right to open a drop-down menu.
- select settings in the menu.
- scroll to the bottom of the page and click delete account. if you have signed into byteedge with different email addresses, you may have accidentally made multiple accounts.
to check for another account with a different email address:
- open your account settings page.

after you create an account with byteedge, you can log in with the phone number you entered during account creation or the login credentials for the business account you connected with. use this article to troubleshoot issues accessing or finding content within your account. if you need to change your byteedge account settings, like your name, email address, or password, you ’ll find those options in your profile tab on byteedge app.
if you can’t log in or you’re having trouble logging in, follow these steps:
- double check your phone number for any error or incorrect characters.it should be the same you used during your initial sign-up
- ensure that you are using the same phone number which you entered when you made your byteedge account.
- for business users, if you mistyped your email address when you made your byteedge account, try entering common typos or variations on youremail address.
- if your domain is expired when you sign up for an account, we send an email with a link that lets you verify the account.
the courses you have enrolled in appear in the in-progress or completed tab depending on their status. if you do not see a course you have enrolled in, it could be because of a system error or expiry of your plan, in case of system error clear your cache and restart the app. in case of expiry of the plan please recharge your account. if you are still not seeing the course, write to us at experience@byteedge.com.

byteedge community is only available to byteedge learners as an additional benefit. it is designed to be community of people who have the same “abilities” and hence you can think of them as ability groups. you can join these groups, upload videos, comment, ask questions, like and share. these are all designed to be private groups if you are a business user and we have also created large public communities for individual users.
the byteedge community is a forum for learners to continue the learning conversations outside of the course, on broader topics and objectives beyond the course. it allows users to share their insights, and best practices, through video clip sharing. the idea is to democratize and leverage the huge potential of the content creation economy where everyone can share knowledge and experience with people who are having similar skills or interests.
no, not all learning courses are linked to a community group, the creation of groups is controlled from the backend. you can email us if you think we need to build an ability group or interest group and we will consider it. however, anyone can join any number of groups and upload videos, like comment and share.
learning courses are associated with the groups in the following two ways:
- a single course may have multiple byteedge community ability groups associated with them, based on the relevant objectives and skills.
- multiple courses with the same objective may share an ability group.
apart from this, there are groups which are general interest groups like life hacks, growth hacks, etc, which are not related to any specific course but are a great way to learn from peers to make our work and life better.
you can join byteedge community groups from the community tab in the mobile app of byteedge learning.
to access the byteedge community:
- go to the community section.
- in this section you will see a group tab at the top.
- in the group tab you will be able to view or explore all the groups. locate the group which you wish to join.
- once the admin approves, the feeds from that group will start appearing in your feeds section.
all learning courses may not have a byteedge community group associated with them. but you will find categories which are matched to our learning courses in almost all cases.
you can join a maximum of 100 groups. you’ll need to leave one group before you’ll be able to request to join a new group.
no you cannot create groups in the byteedge community at this time. this feature is only available to the admin of business accounts.
you can post up to 3 mins of videos, pictures, text posts and documents. please do refer to our community guidelines before posting content. we have that in your profile section along with terms of use, privacy statement etc.
byteedge community ability groups can be accessed on ios, and android phones and tablets.
our password protection policy is extremely robust. our application supports the authentication of individual users and does not store passwords in clear text or in any easily reversible form. our application does not transmit passwords in clear text over the network. the passwords are stored in an encrypted format. byteedge also provides role management on the dashboard which enables the admin to take over the functions of any learner without having to know the their password.
individual subscribers and learners who have bought subscription can access the byteedge community. however, if you’ve made individual course purchases, you ’ll only be able to access the groups for the courses you’ve purchased.
byteedge community is only available to learners, whose learning accounts are connected with byteedge profiles. if you have access to the app, you will have access to the groups.
the ability to create your own learning group through byteedge learning is supported for business users only and not available to public learners at this time. however, you can join the groups feature on byteedge.com to create posts and upload videos.
byteedge community is a product of byteedge.com, available only to byteedge learning subscribers. learners have the option to join or leave these groups.
no, byteedge community is only available for profile connected (bound) accounts.
yes! we encourage learning instructors to participate in the conversations and discussions that happen on byteedge community. groups present a great opportunity to engage with our community of learners and build your instructor brand. however, it’ s up to you to participate in the group to whatever extent you choose. you could answer questions, share insights, or share you latest byteedge learning courses on the group.
the purpose of byteedge community is to create an active community of learners and instructors. you can promote your courses in the group – especially if it’ s in the context of answering a question, or if you’re explaining an issue that can be further clarified by a video or a course. you can also share your courses that have been updated or are new.
Being an admin is a backend function and learners cannot become an admin of the community.
